Registration for the 2018 Sing for America Chorus is now open. Rehearsals for the upcoming season begin in January 2018 and will be held at the Marines Memorial Club in San Francisco. This culminates in a benefit concert in April 2018.

My name is Nicolle Foland, and I’m a professional singer who has performed with Sing For America for the past three years. I love the camaraderie created by singing weekly in this wonderful chorus. It is a fun experience bringing together singers, amateur and professional, to give back to their communities and has been a unique way to raise funds for my after school program, Pacific Singers & Actors Workshop. My partners and I go into San Francisco public schools to bring performing arts education to underserved student populations – one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Sing for America has provided the opportunity for me to be a part of a singing community while having fun and raising funds to make my after school program available to more students in more schools.

The Sing For America Foundation, an innovator in helping individuals and charities raise money through singing, has completed its most successful year to date, distributing over $170,000 to charities and performing artists. This brings SFA’s five-year total to well over $700,000. The enormously popular Sing for America concert at the Palace of Fine Arts has showcased hundreds of singers in the last five years, ranging from local children’s choruses to the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir to Tony-winning Broadway stars.
The Foundation provides support for a diverse group of organizations, most importantly by empowering their members to couple their love of singing with fundraising. Similar to a walkathon, anyone from “shower singers” to international opera stars rehearse fun choral music for three months, culminating in a beautiful and engaging concert in one of San Francisco’s premier concert venues, the Palace of Fine Arts. There is never a cost to join, and all materials are provided.
